UNDER GRADUATE COURSE
Department of mathematics was established in the year of 1996-1997, Affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai & their affiliation number is CDC-3/SFC/IC/96-97, dated on 24.04.1997. In later years our college was affiliated to Alagappa University and Non-Choice Based Credit System was followed since 2003. In the year 2008, the Choice Based Credit System was introduced.
POST GRADUATE COURSE
Post Graduate Course was established in the year 2001-2002, Affiliated To Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai & their affiliation number is CDC-5/Dean/IC/FA/2001-2002, dated on 11.07.2001. After some years, our college was Affiliated to Alagappa University and Non-Choice Based Credit System was followed since 2003. In the year 2008, the Choice Based Credit System was introduced.

To centre stage Mathematical knowledge in curriculum. Instill, analytical and logical thinking among students to promote Mathematical thought as an important area of human thought. To design the mathematical modeling for systems involving global level technology

Serve women of the undeveloped regions in Sivagangai, District.

NATIONAL SEMINAR ON MATHEMATICS AND ITS APPLICATION - 23rd September 2016
The Department of Mathematics organized One Day National Seminar on ”MATHEMATICS AND ITS APPLICATION”. The Chief Guests were Dr. S. MURALI KRISHNAN, HOD, Department of Mathematics, Anna University and College of Engineering, Ramanathapuram, and Mrs.D.LOURDU IMMACULATE, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, American College, Madurai.
It started with prayer song followed by lighting the lamp. Miss .K. Vidhya, Head of the Department had delivered the welcome address. Chief Guest Dr. S.MURALI KRISHNAN occupied the first session on the topic of “Fuzzy Mathematics”. The second session was engaged by Mrs.D.LOURDHU IMMACULATE on the topic “DYNAMICS IN MECHANICS”. Students from various colleges had presented their papers on “NATURE OF MATHEMATICS, APPLICATIONS OF MATHEMATICS AND VEDIC MATHEMATICS”. Best papers awarded with shields. Miss .B. Rajathi, Assistant Professor had delivered the Vote of thanks
INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR - 13th & 14th September 2017
The Department of Mathematics organized Two Day International Seminar on “RECENT TRENDS IN APPLIED MATHEMATICS”. It started with prayer song followed by lighting the lamp and welcome dance. MS.B.Rajathi, HOD rendered the formal welcome address. Nearly 132 students from various colleges, 20 staff and 2 research scholars participated in that programme. The first session handled by Dr.L.Benedict Michael Raj, Associate Professor & Head, Dept of Mathematics, St.Joseph’s College, Trichy on “APPLICATION OF MATHEMATICS”. The second session engaged by Prof . Mr .R. Manimaran Ramaswamy, Software Lecturer, Hunan University of Humanities Science & Technology, Loudi in China on “Datamining”. Students from various colleges presented Papers and Posters. The programme concluded with College Anthem. On 14.09.2017, the third session was handled by Dr.S.Muralisankar, Assistant Professor, Dept of Mathematics, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai on the topic “FUZZY MATHEMATICS”.
Fourth Session occupied by Dr.S.Muralikrishnan, Assistant & Head, Department of Mathematics, Anna University, Ramanathapuram on “Applied Mathematics”. Mrs.Arockia Vimala, Assistant Professor delivered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with National Anthem.
NATIONAL SEMINAR - 27th September 2018
The Department of Mathematics organized One Day National Seminar on “PURE AND APPLIED MATHEMATICS”. The programme started with prayer song.
Dr. L. Vijayalakshmi, HOD has delivered the welcome address. The invitees of that day were Dr. A. Joseph Kennedy Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Pondicherry University, Pondicherry and Dr.M.Arockiaraj, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Loyola College, Chennai and our guest faculty Dr.K.Subramaniyam, Rtd., Professor, Alagappa Government Arts College, Karaikudi.
Dr. R. Vijayalakshmi, HOD department of Commerce with Computer Applications, felicitated the function. The Inaugural address delivered by Dr. K. Subramaniyam. The first session was taken by Dr. A. Joseph Kennedy on the topic “MATRIX ALGEBRA”.
Second Session was taken by Dr.M.Arockiaraj. on the topic “SOCIAL MEASURES ON GRAPH THEORY”. Students from various colleges participated, presented the papers and exhibited the models. The winners were honoured with shields and certificates. Mrs.P.Arockia Vimala, Assistant Professor delivered the Vote of thanks. The programme ended with National Anthem.

She explained each and every course in detail. She told about the importance of the course and their entrance exams and she showed the top colleges related to that courses. She taught the general format for every course .(i.e) aptitude, general knowledge, reasoning with allotted marks. Really the session was useful for every one of us. She gave some simple mind problems to solve. It is very useful for our students. The session comes to an end with a vote of thanks.

In the presence of god’s blessings the day was started . After addressing, the session was handed over to the Resource Person Dr.T.Kannan, Sree Sevugan Annamalai College, Devakottai. He told about the importance of the National Eligibility Test & State Level Eligibility Test. He explained the general format for NET/SET Exam and also gave ideas about aptitude, general knowledge, reasoning with allotted marks. He solved the sample problems asked in Part B & C. Really the session was very useful for us. The session comes to an end with a vote of thanks.

Our Department has conducted the National Seminar on the topic ”MATHEMATICS AND ITS APPLICATION” the chief guest were Dr. S. MURALI KRISHNAN, HOD, Department of Mathematic, Anna university and college of Engineering, Ramanathapuram. And MRS .D. LOURDU IMMACULATE, Assistant Professor, department of Mathematics, The American college, Madurai. The seminar was started at 10 am with prayer song followed by lighting the lamp. To welcome the gathering our students presented a welcome dance and our HOD Miss .K. Vidhya had delivered the welcome address. Our honorable chief guests DR. S.MURALI KRISHNAN had started the first section and gave his lecture on the topic fuzzy mathematics. After a small refreshment the second section was taken by honorable chief guest MRS.D.LOURDHU IMMACULATE .
She delivered her speech on the topic “ DYNAMICS IN MECHANICS”. After the lunch break student from various colleges had presented their power point on the topic “NATURE OF MATHEMATICS, APPLICATIONS OF MATHEMATICS AND VEDIC MATHEMATICS” . Certificates for the prize winners were issued to the participants. Assistant Professor Miss .B. Rajathi had delivered the Vote of thanks . The seminar was ended at 3.30 Pm with the national anthem.

Our department conducted the international seminar on 13th &14th September 2017. The topic of the seminar was “RECENT TRENDS IN APPLIED MATHEMATICS”. The seminar was started at 10.00 Am with the prayer song followed by lighting the lamp and welcome dance.
Our department HOD MS.B.Rajathi rendered the formal welcome address. Nearly 132 students from other colleges and 20 staff and 2 research scholars participated in the program. The first session speaker was our honorable chief guest Dr.L.Benedict Michael Raj, Associate professor & Head, Dept of Mathematics, St.Joseph’s college, Trichy.
He gave his lecture on “APPLICATION OF MATHEMATICS” . After the refreshment we had a paper presentation and poster presentation competitions for all the participants from various colleges.
In afternoon, The second session was taken by Prof . Mr .R. Manimaran Ramaswamy, Software lecturer, Hunan University of Humanities science & Technology, Loudi in china. He gave his lecture on Computer related mathematics. Really his speech inspired the audience. After that the prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners. We concluded that day program with college anthem.
On 14th morning 9.00Am the second day program was started with a gracious prayer song which was followed by the formal welcome address by our department staff Mrs.Jamima Banu .The third session speaker of the seminar was Dr.S.Muralisankar,Assistant Professor, Dept of Mathematics, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. He gave his lecture on the topic FUZZY MATHEMATICS which is the Application of Mathematics.
After that the 4th session speaker was Dr.S.Muralikrishnan, Assistant &Head, Department of Mathematics, Anna University, Ramanathapuram. He gave his lecture on Applied Mathematics, then our department staff Mrs.Arockia Vimala delivered the vote of thanks. The program was concluded with National Anthem.
