YEAR OF ESTABLISHMENT
The Biochemistry Department was established in the year 1996 with Under Graduate. Since its inception, the department has trained around 600 Biochemists- many of whom are occupying prestigious positions all over the world. At present, the department is offering both under graduate as well as post graduate courses in Biochemistry.

- To conserve the conducive for learning environment and chemistry of life.

INTRA COLLEGIATE WORKSHOP
2014 -2015
The Department of Biochemistry organized Two Day Intra-collegiate Workshop from 12.03.2014 to 13.03.2014.
Mrs. T.Shanthi, Production Head, Orange institute of Technology was the Chief Guest. She demonstrated the “Molecular Techniques”. Certificates were distributed to all the participants. The workshop was concluded with National Anthem.

The Department of Biochemistry Organized Two Day International Seminar on 21st & 22nd July 2016 on “RECENT RESEARCH TRENDS IN BIO- SCIENCE”. Our Guests were Dr.SIVAKUMAR, Associate Professor, Department of Botany, Annamalai University, Chidmbaram, Dr.RATHINAM RAJA, Research Scientist, Food Science Laboratory, University of Algarve Portugal, Dr.AROCKIA VIJAY ANANTH, Assistant Professor, Department of Biological Education, St. Joseph University in Tanzania, and Dr.KALIDOSS, Assistant Professor, Department of Biological Education, St.Joseph University in Tanzania. Nearly 100 students were participated from various Colleges.
