AICUF

To give life to the above mentioned Gospel Verse, we the AICUF club of Idhaya college for women, celebrated the suppose X-Mas in a meaningful way by offering dress and cakes to the mentally challenged people who have been getting educated and taken care of by the Guanellians priests. First of all behalf Guanellians family and their students, we were warmly welcomed by Fr.Paul followed by prayer song by our students sisters. The students of our club performed colourful and meaningful dances, comic and sung a song. End of the programme, Rev. Sr. Jasmine Thangakumari, Principal gave X-Mas message followed by vote of thanks by Rev. Fr. Kulandai, Superior. Indeed, it doubled our joy and we experienced the real joy in them.

TREE PLANTATION

On the occasion of late Dr.A.P.J.AbdulKalam birthday, we the AICUF students of Idhaya College For Women, had outreach programme at Sarugani. Mr. PR. Senthilnathan Member of Parliament, Sivaganga, presided over the programme.Mr.Francis, president, Sarugani Panchayat also joined with as in the plantation of tree saplings. In order to protect our environment from the natural disasters and fulfil the dream of our former president late Dr.A.P.J.AbdulKalam, We planted twenty saplings near by the bus stop, Sarugani.Twenty five Aicufers actively participated in this tree plantation.

YOUTH AWARENESS PROGRAMME

The programme began with the prayer song followed by welcome address of our chief guest Rev. Fr. Bakianathan, Director of the youth, sivagangai district. In this programme he has motivated the students by giving example which he has encounted in his life. It was about a boy one who his a physically challenged mother and he overcame from all the obstacles. Then he connected that boy’s life with the life of our students. The essence of his talk was to realize the life, approach the life with positive thinking, Sharpen our thoughts and minds in order to shine in the midst of word. With the help of power point presentation, be showed the clippings of challenges in our life. We concluded this programme by giving vote of thanks.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRTION

The second meeting was conducted on 6th Saturday at 10.00 am to 11.00 am. The meeting began with prayer. The main discussion was about the forth coming Christmas celebration.
The following points were discussed:
1. Choosen Poradaippu as a place of celebrating Christmas. 2. Discussed about the expenses for this celebration. All the students came forward to give money for the poor and one girl named S. priyanka (II-Maths) told that, she will pay full amount for the sweet.
3. Decided to visit the village.
4. For the poor family children we can give dress.
The meeting came to an end as the small prayer.

2016-2017

On the eve of Christmas celebration, AICUF volunteers visited the Leve Old Age Home, Sarugani club volunteers were accompanied by the club coordinator (Mrs.P.Arockia Vimala). The club volunteers and the staff were welcomed by Rev. Sr. Francisca, Administrator, AROCKIYA Hospital. The cultural events started with prayer song, followed by a dance programmer our students we distributed Christmas cakes and sanitary things to them Sr. Valentina thanked our students for their effort and selfless service of the students.

TREE PLANTATION

On 14.10.2016 to honour the birthday of our former president late Dr.A.P.J.AbdulKalam . trees plantation was done in Devakottai Panchayat Government Elementary School, Sokkanadhapuram. Twenty trees were planted by the volunteers of AICUF. In order to protect our environment from the natural disasters and to fulfil the dream of our former president late Dr.A.P.J.AbdulKalam. We planted the trees.

ROAD SAFETY CAMP

On 17.09.2016 AICUF conducted Road safety camp in the open auditorium of the Idhaya College, Sarugani. E. Eagojirao, Sevagan Annamalai College, Devakottai .Mr.Arima.Perichiyappan secretary, past secretary, Saravana Narayanan and poet V.Palaniyappan a debate speaker came as chief guests. They gave awareness about road safety and women’s safety. All the speakers’ addresses were informative and entertaining. The session was more interactive too. Students took active participation in this Road Safety Camp.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

On 03.08.2016, Mr.Aro Prakash, AICUF Co-ordinator, St.Joseph’s college, Trichy, gave an orientation programme to our AICUF volunteers (250) at our college auditorium. He presented the idea about AICUF thought. The whole presentation was about personality development and leadership quality. The session was entertaining and informative. Our volunteers actively participated in that programme.

OLD AGE HOME VISIT

On 25.06.2016, hundred of our AICUF volunteers went to Leve Old Age Home, Sarugani. Sr. Francisca, Administrator of Arockiya Hospital and Leve Old Age Home had welcome our volunteers. Our AICUF students cleaned the old age home, cut their nails, and had a conversation with the inmates of old age home. They distributed snacks to them. They spent their precious time with the senior citizens. As an appreciation, Sr.Valentina thanked the students for their effort and selfless service of the students.

2017-2018

CONTRIBUTION

Our institution organized the Christmas celebration with the theme “BORN TO SHARE”. In order to fulfil the values, We AICUF club members accompanied with YRC volunteers, have collected the sanitary items like paste, soap, shampoo bottles, washing powder, brush etc... From our students. We AICUF volunteers along with YRC and also with our beloved principal Rev. Sr. Dr. JOTHY Mary we handover all these things to the LEVE OLD AGE HOME. Rev. Sr. Valantina Mary Incharge, Arockiya Hospital, Sarugani accepted our small gifts .

AICUF CLEANING ACTIVITY

As our institution planned to conduct the volley ball tournament 2017, after we receive the intimation of our college physical director, We AICUF volunteers voluntarily engaged in the cleaning work. Nearly Seventy five of our volunteers removed all the thorn bushes and unwanted things which are in the volley ball court.

DENGUE AWARENESS PROGRAMME

The AICUF club of our college organized a “DENGUE AWARENESS PROGRAMME” for the primary school students in sokkanadhapuram. We started the programme with a prayer song followed by Mrs. Elisabeth Headmistress address. Three of our volunteers explained the painful mosquito born disease “DENGUE”. They illustrate the causes, treatment and prevention. The students of that Primary School got the clear view on the deadly disease DENGUE. Finally we provide a neem and papaya juice for all students and staff members of that school. Our student J.Aparna Juliya of II-Maths delivered our gratitude to them through vote of thanks. We left the school with the heart of service satisfaction.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

We the AICUF volunteers organized, one day orientation programme for all the new AICUF members. The programme was started with the gracious prayer song. Our AICUF secretary J. Aparna Juliya II B.sc Mathematics welcomed the gathering. It was followed by the Annual report, which was presented by AICUF president A.Princy. AICUF full timer Mr. Y.Krishtober was presided over the programme. He explained the history, and the founder of AICUF. Then he had an interaction with the students on today’s issues of our society. Then he gave his lecture on personality development which very useful for the improvement of our students. Finally the vote of thanks was rendered and the programme was ended with the National Anthem.

2018-2019

Monthly Activity – AICUF

AICUF members planned to visit old age people. Along with 2 coordinators and 60 Volunteers went to LEVE OLD AGE HOME at 10: 00 am. First we gave the things which we had already collected from the students like cookies and all sanitary items. After that we split into 6 groups and we went to each wing and helped the old age people. Sr.Valantin, incharge for that home have already allotted some works for us. And we completed all the works and returned to college with full satisfaction of serving others.

TREE PLANTATION

Tree plays an important role in the protection of our environment. In order to control global warming and to reduce the greenhouse emissions, Our AICUF coordinators and volunteer decided to plant trees. So our college AICUF sub coordinator, along with Ten students volunteer went to Sree Sarasvathi Vikas Vidhiyalaya School, Kalaiyarkovil and there we planted Neem trees and Cypress trees.

PLASTIC AWARENESS

As our Tamil Nadu government planned to stop the uses of plastic in our state we the AICUF volunteers want to make awareness to the village people. We totally fifty members with Two staff went there. As plastic bags pollute our land and water we insist the people to use reusable bags. We asked them to use silver boxes and containers instead of plastic bottles. We insisted them about the serious health issues caused by the harmful gas produced by burning plastics. The village people were eager by received our words and accepted the fact. Finally they took a decision not to use plastic things.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

All India Catholic University Federation’s Orientation class was organized by the AICUF co-ordinator and club members of our college. The programme was started with a prayer song followed by the welcome address by Miss. J.Nikeetha of II Mathematics. After that, the last year club activities report was rendered by our college AICUF president Miss J. Aparna Juliya of III Mathematics. Mr.Hercules AICUF full timer was the chief guest. He delivered his speech on the “service of youngsters towards the current society”. He advised our girls to make awareness to the public about the government issues and corrupted nation through street play, rally, hikes, exposure visit and camps. He taught the motto of the AICUF “we are born into an unjust society and we are determined not to leave it as we have found it”. Finally our AICUF secretary Miss. A.Ajitha Reklin delivered the vote of the thanks.

2019-2020

AWARENESS PROGRAMME

On 24th September 2019 , AICUF Volunteers went to Gopalapuram and Nagamathi to make awareness of the people about rain water harvesting. In this current situation it is very important to save rain water. Nearly Fifty students were took part in this good work.

Our AICUF coordinator and volunteers decided to plant trees. So our college AICUF coordinator along with Twenty students volunteer went to our department garden and planted trees with the permission of management.

All India Catholic University Federation’s Orientation class was organized by the AICUF coordinators and club members of our college. The programme was started with a prayer song followed by the welcome address by Miss.M.Sonita of II- Mathematics. After that the last year club activities report was read by our college AICUF president Miss. A. Ajitha Reklin of III- Mathematics. Miss. S. Raji AICUF full timer was the chief guest. She delivered her speech on the “New Education Policy”. She advised our girls to make awareness to the public about the government issues and corrupted nation through street play, rally, hikes, exposure visit, and camps. She taught the motto of the AICUF that is “We are born into an unjust society and we are determined not to leave it as we have found it”. Finally our AICUF secretary Miss. Subbiksha delivered the vote of the thanks.
